With overwhelming encouragement from friends and family, we finally brought Thimblina up to speed with a website. Now many more can enjoy the custom designs found here. With a lifelong love of creating from textiles, we have found our niche in home decor. We use high quality fabrics and notions to preserve the longevity of your hand crafted items. We offer a great deal of services and add to them as we continue to grow.
Thimblina is a "home grown" small but meaningful company born in Stockton, California on January 1, 2005. With the true entrepreneur spirit, a passion for the trade, and loads of "chutzpa", her owners threw caution to the wind and remodeled a space for Thimblina's leading lady. Meet Greta Gammil in her new home, now relocated to the central California Coast of Arroyo Grande; we can reach more quilters!
If the creator had a purpose in equipping us with a neck, he surely meant us to stick it out.
About Greta's Mama... I have been a seamstress since teenager years, but almost 6 years ago I unleashed the passion for quilting! This was born of a need to protect my sanity I believe! As a result of an accident, I was wheelchair bound for a time. I had nothing to do but use my hands and my mind. I embroidered on muslin and it turned into my very first quilt. One year later, on my feet and walking, it was completed. I would never profess to have mastered any skill as of yet... I am but a child, when I see art I fall down screaming "I'M NOT WORTHY!" However, I am quite talented, on loan from God of course, and am excited to share my talent with others.
Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps, if you are not willing to move your feet.
I can usually be found in the quilt studio that my very supportive husband built for me, sewing happily away the day. I keep containers of Gobstoppers® and Neccos® in reach at all times. Rudy on his tree and Smooth Jazz on the stereo. How wonderful is this life?
